Can you believe that we are already half way through the First Quarter? I can't believe that Progress Reports went home Friday. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's grades, I am happy to discuss those with you. I am so pleased with how successful our Room 7 students have been so far! Check each content area tab to find out what skills students have been mastering.
Thank you to those parents that have signed up for PTA memberships, our goal in Room 7 is 100% participation. It's not too late to sign up!
One area that is key to your child's success is Character Education. In order for students to be successful, they need to know how to interact with peers and deal with conflict in a manner that is appropriate. If a child doesn't feel safe and welcomed, it makes for a very difficult learning environment. Ask your child how we are accomplishing this task in Room 7. We practice social skills and sharing daily and discover new ways daily to be a Bucket-filler and not a Bucket-dipper in our school community.
This week Parkway students and staff will be taking a stand against bullying by hosting a week long theme of prevention and anti-violence. You can discuss this at home as well. Ask your child what are healthy alternatives when he is angry with himself or his peers? What can she do if she is having problems with school work? Students need a healthy means to deal with conflict. That's why we are here.
Thank you for participating in the ongoing process of establishing and maintaining a safe learning environment for our students' success at Parkway Elementary!
